Full-time RVing and Jobs Texas!

What could be better than being a retired full-timer?  For many it does sound perfect, but for others, retirement simply isn’t an option.  This may be due to the fact that some people can’t afford to retire and need to work to pay their bills in their later years.  For others, their personalities are not suited for retirement and they want to work to stay busy.  If you are one of these individuals who either has to or wants to continue working, it doesn’t mean that you cannot become a full time RVer.

There are many jobs available for full-timers, but I want to dedicate this blog to discussing the employment opportunity of working for a campsite.  This is a great job because it allows you to earn an income while camping.  Work camping may not be the most glamorous job, but for some it is the perfect fit.  Often, when you work for the campsite, your personal stay is either free or deeply discounted.  In addition, at many campsites, if you work on site, you will also get free propane, cable and laundry.  This saves money of course, plus you will likely also earn a wage for your duties.  So, what kind of duties are we talking about?

Each campsite has its own variation of duties which need to be performed, but the most common campsite jobs is the campground host.  If you don’t want to be the host, there may be other positions available at the campsite such as maintenance and cleaning, campground office work, or even a gate attendant at parks operated by the Corps of Engineers.  Finding these jobs (and getting the job) is just like any other job search.  You’ll need to do a bit of research on your own to find out what areas are looking for help and then check them out to see if it would be a good fit for you.

Working at a campsite gives you the ability to hit the road in your camper or RV while still being able to work and earn an income, but it is also a great way to stay active.  In addition, you will meet many new people and get to experience the great outdoors.  If you have a desire to be a full-timer, but still need to work, working on the campsite may be a perfect fit for you.  And be sure to stop by any convenient ExploreUSA RV Supercenter and check out the great selection of travel trailers perfect for your full-time RVing life!
