How to Make Your New Texas RV Feel Like Home This Fall

New 2012 Forest River RV Flagstaff Classic Super Lite 831FKBSS Travel Trailer

Now that you just brought your new fifth wheel Texas home from the Dallas RV dealership, you want to make it feel like home before you take the first trip. Or maybe you have a used Texas RV you are taking on a fall trip and you want it to feel like home. With the holidays coming up, you can easily make your RV feel like home, and we’re going to share some of our ideas:

Holiday Decorations: Deck your RV out in Halloween or Thanksgiving decorations, just as you would at home. If you are camping over the Halloween and you are in an RV park, decorate the inside and outside of your RV. Children in the RV park will appreciate the spooky decorations you set out. Also, make sure you have candy on hand, in case children staying at the park go trick or treating.

Scents: During the fall, put spice-scented or apple-scented room fresheners in the RV to get the down-home, comfort smell in the RV. The scents will make your RV smell like your kitchen when you are cooking holiday meals.

Wall Hangings: Add a clock to the wall in the living space. Choose something that you will enjoy looking at. Add pictures on the wall — whether they are pictures of you and your family or you choose other paintings and wall hangings, your RV will feel more at home, especially if the walls in your house are covered with pictures, paintings and prints.

Throws: Bring a comfortable throw from home so you can curl up on the sofa and watch television. The throw will bring a bit of your home into your RV. If you don’t have a throw, you can knit or crochet a throw in a matter of hours. Choose warm colors to make the throw.

Kitchen: Hang decorative dishtowels on the oven handle if your RV has an oven. If not, you can fold the dishtowels on the counter. If you bring a crockpot with you, you can make comfort food. The smell of the food cooking all day will make you feel at home.
