Picking the Perfect Campground for Your RV Trip

Since warm weather seems like it is going to stick around for good while, I am holding off on winterizing the recreational vehicle Texas!  There’s not better time than now to take advantage of this weather to get out and RV!  I was recently planning our next family RV trip when it dawn on me that not all RV campgrounds are equal. And I’ve actually had to find that out the hard way. So here are a few tips on how to select a good campground.  You always have to consider that the right campground is one that fits your family, not just you!

First, pick a few campgrounds that look appealing to you.  And you have a lot of options too I might add. From private parks to BLM  sites, national park service sites to state parks and public land. Once you’ve determined a few from what seems like an endless section,  you’ll need to go in an research them and narrow it down to the one that seems just right for  you and your family.

Ask your RV buddies. Check with them to see if they themselves have ever stayed at the RV campgrounds in question or if they have heard anything about them. You can also ask the RVing experts at ExploreUSA RV Supercenter if they have any experience too.

Consider Your Needs. You’ll want to make sure that you and your family are all on the same page when it comes to what they are wanting to do, see, expect at the campground. Things to consider are electricity hookups, cable and sewer hookups, swimming pools to activity centers. Entertainment near the campground is also good to consider too such as hiking, fishing and site seeing.

Reservations. Depending on if you’re traveling during a busy holiday weekend or not, you may want the option to be able to book a reservation.

Pets. If you travel with your pets you’ll want to find out if it’s pet friendly. Or on flip side of things, if you’re not a pet lover then you should check to see if pets are allowed or not so you know which campgrounds to eliminate if pets are allowed.

Finding the right RV campground can make or break a RV trip. Hopefully the tips above will help you out and if you have tips to help finding the perfect RV campsite please post them below. Or come by any convenient ExploreUSA RV Supercenter and tell us!
