The 72 Ounce Challenge, Big Texan

The Challenge: Finish a baked potato, salad, roll with butter, shrimp cocktail, and a 72 oz. steak in an hour

The Rules: You’re on your own with this challenge–no on can cut for you, spread butter for you, or feed you. You’ll have to pay the full $72 before starting the challenge, but should you win, you’ll be refund the whole meal.

The Prize: Free meal and your place on the 72 Oz. Hall of Fame.

Extras: Big Texan offers free shuttle service to and from Amarillo Ranch RV park. After a meal this size, taking a nap in your Class C doesn’t sound like a bad idea.

The Challenge: Eat an eight-decker sandwich on rye bread with corned beef, pastrami, turkey, roast beef, salami, tongue, and swiss cheese with cole slaw, Russian dressing, and sweet red pepper.

The Rules: Only one person for each sandwich

The Prize: A slice of New York-style cheesecake

The Challenge: Slurp through a 5 pound bowl of pho in 90 minutes

The Rules: If you don’t finish the challenge, you’ll have to pay the $16 bill.
