Whether you’re climbing Enchanted Rock in Texas or exploring the beach on the West Coast, having a properly stocked first aid kit can help keep you enjoying your vacation without having to cut it short because of a minor injury. Many pre-stocked first aid kits are available at your local drug store, however, these are often more expensive than making your own and don’t typically include the brands of items you prefer.

By adding your favorite items to a plastic bin (shoebox sized) you can have your own custom RV first aid kit that will serve you for years and years to come.

While this list isn’t exhaustive, these are the items you’ll likely need to get through any minor injuries you sustain during your trip. Remember to call 911 in case of an emergency. It is also integral you bring along items specific to your family’s needs.

If you have a family member who is diabetic bring along any insulin they might need and a glucometer to test their blood sugar. If someone in the family suffers from hypertension, make sure you have a blood pressure cuff to ensure their blood pressure is monitored. This is your first aid kit.
