Now, I am not a big runner. But if someone wanted me to run a 5K with them, I may just do it for a little chocolate!
There is a progressive 15K/5K run going on around the country, and it’s called the Hot Chocolate Run. Washington DC and Chicago already had their runs, and now it’s Dallas’ turn. This coming up Saturday, February 11, the Dallas Hot Chocolate Run 15k/5k will kick off at Fair Park. There is also a Runner Expo on Thursday night, February 9 and Friday night, February 10 at Fair Park in the Automobile building.
You will receive a goody bag when you pick up your race packet. Inside is a nice wind and water resistant running jacket…nice! The Post Race Party includes hot chocolate, chocolate fondue and so much more. Now, I don’t know that I could do a 15K, but a 5K? Sign me up!
If you aren’t a racer, but want to be involved in the race, they are looking for volunteers. This is a pretty big race so they need all the help they can get. Volunteer information is on their website.
This racing series benefits Ronald McDonald Children’s Houses across the country. After Dallas, the Hot Chocolate Run travels to San Diego, then San Francisco and finally Phoenix.
After the race, just hop back on the freeway and head east to Explore USA RV Supercenter. We are just off I-30 in Mesquite. If you have any chocolate left over, we’ll take it!
