Nascar and Texas go hand in hand, right?
Well, the first really big race for 2012, the Samsung Mobile 500, is coming up on April 14 at the Texas Motor Speedway, located just north of Fort Worth, Texas. Texas Motor Speedway has skyrocketed in popularity to become one of the hottest and fastest racetracks in the country and tickets often sell out.
The weather should be perfect and the racing should be fun. Outside RV camping opens on April 7th and infield camping opens on Tuesday, April 9th.
The pre-show before the race is on Sunday at 2:30 pm with Foreigner playing! And the race, a 334 lap race, begins at 6:30 pm on Sunday, April 14.
If you get tired of all the tailgating you must find your way to Babe’s Fried Chicken in Roanoke. This is 10-15 minutes from the race track and it is worth the drive. It’s family style and has much more then fried chicken, like fried catfish, pot roast, chicken fried steak and so much more.
Also, you must try Oliva italian restaurant in Keller. This restaurant is located just east of I-35. The food is very good and the price is right.
If you don’t feel like staying right in the middle of the Nascar racing, try the Vineyard RV park in Grapevine. This park is located right in the heart of some of the best attractions in the north Texas area. The RV sites are large, the park has a security gate that is closed each night. Although it is located about 25 minutes from the Speedway, it would be a nice option for that part of north Texas.
Start packing up the RV! Plan your racing weekend now before the race sells out. If you haven’t experienced a Nascar race in person, it’s worth the trip!
