Food Fests
On May 17-May 18 it’s all about food, fun, games, car show, cook-off and live music at the Buzzard Bump Fest & Buzzard Bump 5K & 1M Fun Runs in Spicewood. There’s plenty of fun for kids and adults and you can even bring Fido as long as he’s on a leash. Gates open at 10am with a $3 admission or 3 canned goods. All proceeds are dispersed among local charities.
Arts and Crafts
The Boernefest Art Show scheduled for May 17-19 features an outdoor art show, art events, nighttime concert, craft show and food and refreshments.
Sports
If golf is your passion, head over to Lampasas on May 25-27 to the Hancock Springs Course for the Chamber Memorial Golf Classic.
Rodeos
On May 31 and June 1, choose between two high-flying and action packed rodeos. The first is the Twist-Off Rodeo at Hill Country Fairgrounds in Junction. This annual event includes a parade, dancing and plenty of rodeo action.
The annual San Saba Pro Rodeo Days at the Rodeo Grounds in San Saba will keep you entertained beginning with a parade followed by live music, carnival games and rides, street dance on Saturday night and plenty of rodeo roping and riding.
Additional May Festival Events
The beginning of May is busy with several festivals you’ll want to add to your Texas travel itinerary. The annual fundraiser provided by St. Stanislaus Parish Festival features music, games, barbecue and an auction.
Enjoy the fragrance of lavender at the Becker Vineyards Lavender Festival in Stonewall. The vineyards are alive with cooking demos, wine tasting, music, tours, food and lavender products.
Marble Falls is the destination for Mayfest where visitors have a day of games, carnival activities, food and live music at Johnson Park.
