Road Trip to the International Balloon Fiesta in Your RV This Weekend!

 

Texas RVers, there’s an amazing event going on in an neighboring state that is worth driving to.  Starting Saturday, October 1, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta will kickoff bright and early with opening ceremonies starting at 6:45 am. So you most definitely have time to get the RV packed and loaded to hit the road. Plus, the International Balloon Fiesta lasts until October 9th.

And, if for some odd reason you’ve never heard of hot air ballooning this is the best chance to experience what it is all about.  Hot air balloon has been going on in Albuquerque for the last three decades. And it’s named the International Balloon Fiesta because literally people from all over the world travel to Albuquerque both as spectators and balloonist for this unique event. Last year nearly 2 million from all over the world visited the balloon Fiesta last year.  And it gets better each year!

RVers from all over the country will also be in attendance so you’ll be sure to be neighboring with RV enthusiasts as well.  If you’ve already made your RV camp reservations, good for you. But, no worries if you haven’t. The balloon fiesta website states that standard (dry) RV sites will still be available and that they will be able to accommodate you. This is a great RV trip that the entire family will enjoy as there are tons of activities going on. From the early morning mass ascension to the special shapes glowdeo in the early evening and so much in between. Up the road on Paseo del Norte and I-25 you’ll also find the annual Rio Grande Arts and Crafts Festival.
